The safest way to improve a battle setup is to read the current game screen, change one thing, and compare the result under the same conditions. The available information identifies Partner skills, Support categories, Skill Card effects, Battle Type labels, and Digimon attributes. It does not establish a complete damage formula, an automatic-battle priority, or one best team.

Quick answer

Start with the battle you are actually trying to clear. Record the mode, opponent, Partner stage, visible skills, Support categories, Skill Cards, and game version. Run the same battle again after changing only one unit, card, or upgrade. A larger Power number or one faster clear does not prove why the result changed.

Use the Team Building Guide when you need to organize a Partner, Supporter, Buddy, SP Support unit, and Skill Card plan. Use this Combat Guide when you need to read the effects and compare the result of that plan.

Read the battle information layers

DIGIMON UP uses several systems around the Partner you raise. Keep their labels separate before drawing a combat conclusion:

  1. The Partner has a current Digivolution stage, active skill, type, and attribute.
  2. Normal Supporters provide reported battle and passive effects.
  3. Buddy and SP Support units use their own unique-skill and breakthrough descriptions.
  4. Skill Cards have their own effect, cooldown, rarity, and acquisition method.
  5. Battle Type text and Digimon Attribute are different fields. One should not be used as a substitute for the other.

Partner skills and Battle Type

Open the Partner directory and find the exact stage currently used in battle. A later stage on the same route can have a different skill name or passive, so a Mega-stage description should not be applied to a Rookie without checking the live screen.

Read these fields together:

  • Skill name and whether the effect is active or passive.
  • Cooldown shown for the current skill.
  • Target, such as one opponent, all opponents, or the Partner.
  • Duration and condition attached to an effect.
  • Current Battle Type text, including any ATK, DEF, or SP label shown by the game.

Current community information reports Battle Type parameters, but the site has not independently reproduced their timing, stacking, or interaction with every mode. Treat the current description as the authority when it differs from a launch reference.

Support and Skill Card effects

The Support character directory separates 83 Supporters, 6 Buddies, and 6 SP Support units. Do not transfer a Supporter percentage to a Buddy unique skill or assume that two categories use the same placement, breakthrough, or activation rules.

The Skill Card directory covers 36 launch cards with reported cooldowns and effect text. Its labels include single-target damage, area damage, additional damage, buffs, debuffs, and HP recovery. Those labels describe the text, not a ranking.

Before using an effect as part of a recommendation, confirm:

  • Who receives the effect and which target triggers it.
  • Whether it changes normal attacks, skills, recovery, cooldown, or another named value.
  • Whether the value shown is a base value, maximum value, breakthrough value, or Collection Mission bonus.
  • Whether the battle includes a temporary event, stage, or account bonus.

Attributes without a guessed matchup chart

The current Partner information uses Vaccine, Data, Virus, and Free attribute labels. These are useful for identifying a Digimon and filtering the directory, but the available evidence does not support publishing a universal advantage cycle, damage multiplier, or target-priority rule for DIGIMON UP.

If a battle screen displays an attribute advantage, save the exact wording, mode, opponent, version, and result. Do not import a matchup chart from another Digimon game and present it as a DIGIMON UP rule.

Safe pre-battle checklist

Before entering a battle you want to compare, check:

  1. Mode, stage, difficulty, opponent, and any event rules.
  2. Partner name, Digivolution stage, level, attribute, and active skill.
  3. Each Support unit's category, current effect, level, and breakthrough.
  4. Each Skill Card's effect, cooldown, target, and current upgrade state.
  5. Equipment, Training, Eat effects, collections, Digivice effects, and other visible growth systems.
  6. Temporary buffs, consumables, account bonuses, and the installed game version.

The Training Guide explains why a Power increase can come from several growth systems. Do not credit one Supporter or Skill Card until the other conditions are controlled.

Compare one change at a time

Use a short before-and-after record:

  1. Capture the starting setup and result.
  2. Change one Partner stage, Support unit, Skill Card, or upgrade.
  3. Repeat the same battle under the same visible conditions.
  4. Record clear time, survival, failure point, and any effect you can actually see.
  5. Repeat before calling the result reliable.

A single result can be a useful observation, but it is not a universal build rule. Random effects, targeting, timing, temporary bonuses, and hidden conditions may still differ.

The Daily Tasks Guide recommends one controlled battle comparison when you have time, rather than changing every growth system at once.

Limits and FAQ

What is the best combat team?

There is no independently tested universal answer. The current Tier List is a community snapshot with stated assumptions, not a complete build solver.

Does this guide confirm the number of formation slots?

No. Use the current formation screen. This guide does not publish a fixed slot layout without evidence that it applies across versions, modes, and regions.

How does automatic battle choose a skill or target?

The available evidence does not establish a complete automatic-battle priority. Record what happens in the current mode instead of assuming a universal target or skill order.

Is there a confirmed damage formula?

No complete formula has been independently reproduced by digimonup.net. Visible skill percentages and Power changes do not by themselves explain every damage, defense, critical, timing, or enemy modifier.

What should I report when the game differs from this guide?

Send the app version, platform, region, mode, Partner stage, relevant effect text, before-and-after conditions, and a redacted screenshot through the Corrections page. Do not include passwords, transfer codes, complete receipts, or private account identifiers.
